After seeing the stage version (with actors from my country) and Forman's film with Nicholson, I'm finally reading Kesey's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest in Romanian. I just hit Harding's line to McMurphy: "Te-ai făcut șiret. Ca noi ăștialalți" — in the original (probably ?) "sly... like us."
(I understand that the English terms “cunning” and “guile” refer to the craftiness of the powerful. But the patients in Kesey’s book are rabbits—crafty out of fear...)
